Halloweeeeen!

Haunting Halloween

My Jack-O-Lantern is carved and my candy dish is full...I'm ready for the ghosts and goblins.

I love the many ideas and inspiration you find on Pinterest.  A great idea I came across recently (unfortunately, I am unable to give credit where credit is due) was to cut a hole around the bottom of the pumpkin, rather than cutting around the top.

I elected to discard the bottom cutout and use a small dish under the candle.  It was easy to clean out the insides and the pumpkin fit nicely over the orange candle.

I like the way my masked Jack turned out.  Here are a few more images of Halloween at My Place...

Happy Halloween

I'd love for you to share your Jack-O-Lantern with me!
I'm working on decorating my Holiday Tree - check back soon.
Have a great day...it's one to remember.

Touches of Fall Around My Place

Everyone has a special affinity for the place they call home.  Living in northern Utah is living in four seasons.  That's one of the things I love about where I live.  There is, however, something about Fall that inspires me...it's my favorite season.  The inspiring colors of Fall provided a perfect color palette when decorating my home so it doesn't take much to decorate for this season.  A few touches here and there is all it takes...

a simple bow here...

and there

a wreath...

or two

a few pretty plates...

with lots of leaves...

and candlelights...

maybe a few more things...

and I think I'm done.

Have a great day...it's one to remember.

Vintage Hydrangea

Many people remember hydrangeas from their childhood.  I have fond memories of beautiful hydrangea bushes growing in my grandmother's garden.  Today, we are falling in love with them all over again.

This beautiful globe hydrangea that I recently purchased is called, "Vintage."

I love the coloring of this Vintage globe...it's unique, soft coloring is beautiful.

I'll enjoy it's beautiful color for a while longer before finding the perfect spot outside to plant it.

Isn't this potted hydrangea beautiful?

This foil-wrapped hydrangea was re-potted in a terracotta container and placed outside in the Spring, after the chance of frost.

Here, blue and purple hydrangeas were planted in the ground and have grown together making a beautiful mix of color.

I love these gorgeous color combinations using hydrangeas via Pinterest.

This beautiful wreath showcasing hydrangeas is one of my favorites...

Hydrangeas...with their lacy texture and striking colors - they're a perfect choice whether in the ground, in a garden container, or in a vase on the table.

Have a great day...it's one to remember.

Spider Web Yard Stake

When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.
~Author Unknown

This is a fun, new Halloween decoration this year.

I wired lights, mesh, feather boa, and a fun garland to the iron web...

then loaded it with a variety of fun bulbs, Halloween decorations and, of course...
a spider.

The bow is a simple double loop wired tight, with a messy center.

For the messy center, cut 4-6" strips out of two or three different ribbons or mesh;
wire together tightly in the center and cut to the desired lengths; wire to the double loops.

I wrap most of my pumpkins with lights using T-Pins to secure the lights where
needed, leaving only a few pumpkins for carving...fast and easy.

Love white pumpkins!  They are showy and add pizazz to your arrangements.
Hang on to those lace nylons after they get a run in them and use them to pull over a pumpkin.

I love decorating for Halloween!
Remember to keep extension cords taped down and out of the way of the kids.

My family has always enjoyed Halloween from the costumes and decorations to the parties...
all topped off with Trick-or-Treating.

Have a fun, safe Halloween.

Have a great day...it's one to remember.
